Strange as it may seem, it all started with a television broadcast.
I first became aware of the problems - and the potential - associated with waste management in the 1970s, when I saw a televised documentary on the subject. As I watched, I realized that, given Eastern Ontario's demography and consumer habits, the region's challenges were unique, and would require unique solutions.
I shared my vision with a few dedicated individuals, some of whom have joined me to form what I consider an exceptional team. With their help, I have worked to adapt and implement the most efficient and environmentally sustainable and economically durable waste management practices from around the world.
The result is the Laflèche Environmental BioReactor, a state-of-the-art landfill site that combines the best of nature and technology to ensure that household and commercial waste will provide benefits to society for decades to come.
But the BioReactor is just the beginning. Many related projects will see the light in the next few years.
And all of these projects will be in keeping with Laflèche Environmental's very simple mission: to find long term solutions to protect the environment and to build a legacy we can be proud of for generations to come.
This mission inspires everything we do at Laflèche Environmental, from research on greenhouse gases and leachate treatment to using recycled tires and glass in the construction of our site. We are committed to ensuring that everything we do results in better pollution management, more efficient and beneficial recycling methods and a better, cleaner environment for us all.
I invite you to explore our web site in depth. If, following this virtual visit, you would like to visit the real site in Moose Creek, Ontario, please do not hesitate to contact us. We'd welcome the chance to show you our site, so you can see for yourself that a more sustainable future really is right under our feet.
Sincerely,
André Laflèche |
